Healthy summer foods to beat the heat and boost health!!

Summer season has begun. The new season brings with it many changes. Special attention has to be paid to food during the summer season, as digestive problems are more prevalent in this season. Today we are going to tell you about those foods, which we should include in our diet plan during the summer season.



Fruits and Vegetables

To stay fit and fine during the summer, include as many fruits and vegetables as possible in your diet. Nutrients present in them are very important for the body. Breakfast in the morning is the most essential meal of the day, which is not to be missed at all. Include maximum quantity of lentils and vegetables in lunch which besides giving you energy, will also keep you active for the day's work.




Tomatoes

Tomatoes are very beneficial for health. Tomatoes are full of vitamin C and have high water content. Beneficial phytochemicals such as lycopene are found in tomatoes, which are helpful in fighting chronic diseases, especially cancer.

Watermelon

Watermelons are full of nutrients and too much water. It can be eaten in many ways which makes it a tasty option. Watermelon also contains lycopene, which protects the skin from the sun's ultra violet rays.


Cucumber

Cucumber is a fruit that can be eaten in salad, smoothie, juice or even raw. A small cup filled with cucumbers contains about 16 calories. If you eat it daily, your body will get about 4 percent of potassium, 3 percent of fiber and 4 percent of vitamin C. As per the requirement, it also contains small amounts of vitamin K, vitamin C, magnesium, potassium, manganese and vitamin A.


Lemon juice

There is nothing more pleasing than a glass of cold lemon juice to keep you fresh in summer. To keep yourself hydrated, keep fresh lemon juice in your fridge. Mint leaves can also be used to add flavour to it.




Gourd

The gourd is full of essential nutrients and our digestive system gets relief in summer due to its high water content.


Drink Plenty of Water

No matter what’s the weather, we should not forget to drink enough water even if we are not feeling thirsty , because it is very important for every function of the body to run smoothly.Avoid too much Cold water - No matter how hot it may be, do not drink too much cold water.
